Autumn Newsflash

We are delighted to see so many of our members back in the Club this Autumn. It’s been such a challenge to set up the programmes and systems to comply with the new and ever changing ‘rules’ but it is so pleasing to hear that you feel we have got the balance of safety, service and comfort right – we rely on our members support to make it work and this has been willingly forthcoming – thank you.

That said, we are all still finding our feet and we know there are pinch points and frustrations. We are working hard to deal with these and introduce measures that will extend and enhance our members experience even further.

With so much key information to impart, here are the news highlights:
Masks 

It is now mandatory to wear a mask/face covering at all times in communal areas of the Club except when undertaking exercise activities.

 

Website

We are in the final stages of completely re-vamping our website. This is the ‘go to’ place for up to date information on all aspects of the Club service, from day to day times and schedules to latest news on changes in the Club.

Alongside the website, please subscribe to our social media offering on Facebook and Instagram to be sure that you are kept up to date.

 

Membership Pricing and Capacity

After carefully considering circumstances, we have taken the unprecedented step of reducing our subscription rate (until 31st December) and temporarily putting a halt on new memberships. This is to ensure our efforts are concentrated on our existing loyal members.

If you know someone who would like to join, we have created a new member waiting list, which can be accessed via the Membership page of our website.

 

Extra Classes

We have already added 10 extra classes in September, and we will be adding a further 10 new classes in October. Bringing the total number if weekly classes to 60.

We are also investing in the Les Mills virtual cycle class programme, which will allow us to put on an extensive number of screened classes in our Group Cycle studio. This will begin as soon as possible.

 

Fairplay Booking Protocol

All activities must now be pre-booked, and with limited spaces, we want everyone to have the best chance to enjoy their favourite activity at their preferred time. The two main elements are:

Members may book, six days in advance, up to three activities in any one week – running from Monday to Sunday. Unlimited bookings and guest bookings, where available, may only be made up to two days in advance.

No shows are one of the biggest frustrations for our members. Members who cannot make a booking please cancel your place as soon possible.

Please note.

Please do not book one activity and go on the waiting list for another – if both activities are within the same time period. Whilst your name will appear on the waiting list you will automatically be bumped off if you are moved up into the activity.

Under no circumstances may members stay on in any activity past the allotted time period. The break times between sessions are a vital part of our Covid secure setting.

For Class bookings, members must arrive at least five minutes before the start time, or your place may be given to someone on the waiting list.

For all other activities (Tennis, Swim, Pool, Gym) members must arrive no later than ten minutes after the start time, or again your place may be offered to another member who is waiting.

At Home Service

To ease the pressure on in Club gym and studio activities our ‘At Home’ subscription is included in your membership (at least until December 31st). This allows you to enjoy all your favourite classes, led by your very own team, in the comfort of your own home. This enables you to mix ‘at-home’ with ‘in-club’ activities.

Extended Hours – Early Openings

From October we will be opening at 6:30am on Tuesdays and Thursdays (for indoor activities).

 

Tennis

We are in the final stages of setting up an on-line tennis and padel booking system.

New to Tennis or been a while since you last played? Ryan the Coach has the answer. Rusty Rackets is a 5-week course starting on Saturday 3rd October 1pm to 2:30pm.

Our Autumn to Christmas Coaching programme for Adults and Children is running as normal.

Finally, don’t forget Tennis Leagues and Team Competitions are back up and running and with five all weather clay floodlit Courts the Club Tennis programme is now ready for all seasons.

 

Fitness

So nice to see familiar faces back in the Gym and the Team is ready to help you reach your fitness goals. Personal training is a sure-fire way to keep you on track. We also have a special offer available right now. For just £14.99 you can book in for a ‘Fit Chat‘ with one of the PT team and get your diet and exercise routine finely tuned. This is designed for all areas and activities in the Club, not just for Gym users.

 

Pool

The new booking system is working well and lots of our members say they prefer it. Please refer to our website for ‘beach ready’ protocol.

We are also delighted to have Vlad and his team back teaching Children and Adults how to swim.

 

Courtside Café Bar

Now open 7 days a week from 10am to 1:30pm. Service is limited to hot and cold drinks, cakes and snacks at the moment. We are regularly reviewing hours and offerings. The more demand the more we can offer so please support your favourite Hospitality Team and make it your local, social spot.

Remember the Courtside Café Bar is open to all current members as well as those currently waiting to come back.

 

Beauty Therapy and Massage

If ever there was a time to treat yourself – it is now. The Beauty Therapy team is back up and running with all the usual treatments on offer. There are spaces available but do hurry. Book via reception.

 

Job Opportunity

Our fabulous Nursery, Little Crickets is recruiting for a full-time room leader (level 3) and a full-time apprentice (no experience required).

 

Waiting in the Wings

Our mantra has always been safety first and Covid has taken this to new heights. We have taken out an independent Covid risk assessment, followed with government guidelines and followed both to the letter. Just as the government asks, we are taking things slowly whilst keeping risks to an absolute minimum.

We know that there is a demand for some activities not yet available such as Aqua classes. At the moment it is not practical for us, but we will review this regularly. Others such as kids swim, sauna steam, use of showers and lockers await a green light for government.

 

Above all

Please be assured our goal is to get back to normal service at the earliest possible opportunity but rest equally assured that we will not compromise the safety of our members and staff team to get there. The support and cooperation we have received from our members is overwhelming and frankly makes all the hard work worthwhile. So we end as we started with a huge thank-you
